Your privacy

We review tools that ask people to upload their faces, so we hold ourselves to the standard we apply to them. This page explains exactly what this website does and does not do with your data.

Last updated: July 17, 2026

The short version

  • · We do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing to log into.
  • · We never receive, process, or store photos or avatars — no upload tool runs on this site.
  • · We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, for any price.
  • · Aggregate analytics tell us which pages get read. That is the extent of the tracking.
  • · Affiliate links tell a merchant that a visit came from us. They do not send them your identity.

Information we collect

Information you give us. The only way to send us personal information is to email us. If you do, we receive your address, your message, and anything you attach. We use it to reply and to track corrections, and we keep the correspondence only as long as it is useful for that purpose.

Information collected automatically. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical data when a page is requested: IP address, browser type and version, device type, the page requested, the referring page, and a timestamp. This is used to serve the site, keep it available, and defend against abuse.

Information we never collect. We do not run avatar generation, photo upload, or image processing on this domain. If you use a tool we review, you do so on that tool's own site, under that tool's own privacy policy — which we encourage you to read, because free image tools vary enormously in whether they retain uploads or use them for model training.

Cookies and similar technologies

The pages themselves are static and set no cookies of their own for tracking purposes. Cookies may be set by two things: our analytics provider, and affiliate networks when you click an outbound link.

Analytics cookies help us count visits and see which reviews are read. Affiliate cookies are set by the merchant or network so that, if you later sign up for a paid plan, the referral is attributed to us. They typically expire between 24 hours and 90 days depending on the program.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site is designed to work fully without them — nothing on these pages breaks if you refuse every cookie.

Analytics

We may use a third-party analytics service to understand aggregate traffic patterns — page views, approximate region, referrer, and broad device category. We use it to decide which tools to review next, not to build profiles of individuals. We do not attempt to identify visitors, and we do not combine analytics data with any other source to do so. The provider processes this data under its own privacy policy and as our processor.

Affiliate links and advertising

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination and its affiliate network may record that the click originated here and may set a cookie in your browser. If you subsequently purchase a paid plan, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

We do not pass your name, email address, or any other identifier to affiliate partners. What they collect once you land on their site is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. We do not run display advertising networks on this site.

How we use information

We use the limited data described above only to operate and secure the website, respond to messages you send us, understand aggregate readership, and meet our legal obligations. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site — our hosting provider and our analytics provider — each acting on our instructions, and only where required by law, valid legal process, or to protect our rights, safety, or the integrity of the site.

Retention and security

Server logs are kept for a short operational period and then rotated out. Email correspondence is kept while it remains relevant to a correction or a conversation. The site is served over HTTPS, and we apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the little data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the UK and EEA, and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to or restrict certain processing, request portability, and complain to your local data protection authority.

California residents additionally have the right to know what is collected and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you may still exercise your other rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

To exercise any right, email [email protected]. In practice, because we hold so little, most requests are answered simply by telling you what we do and do not have.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International visitors

The site is operated with infrastructure that may be located in a country other than your own. By using it, you understand that the limited technical data described above may be processed in those locations, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described clearly rather than folded in silently. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
